About the Editor

Ann Knowles has been an educator for thirty-three years (teaching and curriculum development through community college level). She holds an M. A. Ed. from East Carolina University, has studied religious journalism and missions at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has done doctoral studies in Adult Education and English as a Second Language at North Carolina State University.
 
Her years in education as a graduate student and as a teacher/professor at the community college provide the background and experience for her writing and editing. She is licensed and experienced in teaching English as a Second Language, Spanish, and Reading in public school and at the community college. 
 
Ann began writing in 1990 and launched her freelance editing business in 2005. She is the author of Teaching Reading in Adult Basic Education, an anthology of instructional reading materials for the community college. She is a freelance writer and writes by assignment, fiction and non-fiction. Her articles have appeared in church publications, newsletters, national magazines, and online.
